K’s and Grade 1’s chicks were hatching out of their eggs today! Great job kids!

K’s and Grade 1’s did a great job making their “pop up Easter bunny boxes!

Everyone wore green for St. Patrick’s Day! We had treats from Katie Berg in the morning and green ice cream floats put together by Mrs. Tye in the afternoon. The grade 1-3’s completed some beautiful twisted tissue shamrocks and had some fun St. Patrick’s Day activities in LA and Math. Fun day of learning!

Grade 2 and 3’s wrote about finishing a snowman with random items found in an imaginary box! The funnier the better! I think people would look twice at a snowman wearing banana peel hair, a frying pan hat, toilet plunger arms, complete with DVD eyes or a key for a nose! This is only a sample of the funny items they used for their snowmen! Great writing and illustrations!

Practicing a shelter-in-place and a lock down drill today! Students did a great job moving quietly and taking the drills seriously.

Flashback day at NBS! Our students showed great school spirit!

Today was Pink Shirt Day and everyone wore a pink shirt to show support! It was a great day for kindness and learning! We made “Be Kind” origami fortune tellers, played some games, and created pink shirts with positive messages about stopping bullying. Thank you FCSS for the Pink Shirt Day masks for the staff.

Great participation in our school spirit day. It was “backwards day”!

We celebrated 100th Day of School and exchanged Valentines today. It was a fun day completing 100 day activities. The kids did a great job creating their unique 💯 day projects! So proud!

Today we had our “Winter Walk” followed by a nice hot chocolate and a snack!

The K’s did a great job making a town out of shape blocks. Charlie made a hotel, Reid made a water park, and Jaxson made a bridge to go in to them. Then they had to explain how they used their various shapes in a video made by Mrs. Bamber. So proud! ❤️

Great learning in Science today! We made a compass using magnets, a needle, cork, and a bowl of water. They were so excited when their compass needles pointed to the North!

Wow! Exciting visitor at NBS today!! Santa made a quick stop to drop off his Christmas letters for the kids. Imagine our surprise when Santa rapped on the classroom windows. Still a mystery how he got the letters into the school without anyone letting him in, must be some kind of Christmas magic!

We have been busy making some Christmas ornaments in Art this month. All the K-3’s thought it would be great to share their projects with the seniors at the lodge in Oyen this Christmas. They were so proud and had a hard time choosing which ones to keep and which ones to give away. They also made some very special cards for the seniors. Exciting week, two spirit days! Wednesday was Ugly Christmas Sweater Day, and today was Pajama Day! Thanks Mrs Tye for serving us a great hot lunch today!
